Wisła Płock II

Wisła Płock II earned their most telling season in 2023–24, returning to the third tier after a long absence. Winning the IV Liga Masovia title with 83 points, finishing six clear of Ząbkovia Ząbki, they pulled off a promotion that ended 14 years on the fifth rung.

The reserve team is part of its parent club, founded in 1947. While the first team has moved through the Polish leagues, this squad has served as a development area. Reactivated in 2008 after earlier iterations in the 1980s and 2000s, it plays out of the Stadion im. Kazimierza Górskiego. Rebuilt between 2020 and 2023, it now holds 15,004 spectators. During the work, matches were squeezed onto a side field with a fraction of the capacity. Now, the team shares the pitch with a stadium that breathes the same blue and white as the players.

They have claimed the Płock district Polish Cup on three occasions: 2019, 2022, and 2024. Historically, they have seen the high and low of the third tier, finishing 16th in 2000–01 before sliding back down.

The value of a reserve team is measured in graduates. Szymon Leśniewski is the clearest example. Coming through the academy at Łąck and Gostynin, then SMS Wisła Płock, he wore the blue-and-white stripes for the reserves before stepping onto the I Liga stage for the first team. Players like Adam Dylewski, Daniel Mitura, and Damian Skumórski have followed similar paths. That is what Wisła Płock II does. It does not seek fame. It seeks to produce.
