Wincham Park sits a mile from where Witton Albion actually began, in a village called Wincham rather than in Northwich itself. The move was not by choice: the club's old home, the Central Ground in the centre of town, was sold to Sainsbury's in 1989, and Albion had to find somewhere new to play. Wincham Park holds 4,813.
In 1887, a group of players, officials and supporters broke away from Northwich Victoria after that club chose to turn professional, known simply as the Northwich derby.
The following season they reached the FA Trophy final at Wembley, losing 3–1 to Colchester United in front of 32,254 people.
Promotion returned in 2012 and again in 2017, but Witton Albion have not found their way back to the level they reached in 1991, and the Conference has stayed out of reach ever since.
