The Iberia Cup serves as the primary international fixture for national cricket teams in the region. It is a Twenty20 International tournament contested by Spain, Portugal, and Gibraltar. The competition was originally active in the 1990s but gained formal recognition when it was revived in October 2019 with official International Cricket Council status. Matches are played in a round-robin format, ensuring every team faces the others. The 2019 edition took place at La Manga Club in Murcia, Spain, where Spain emerged as the champion. This event marks a significant development for Portugal, which made its international debut in 1992 against Spain.

For club cricket, there is no exclusive bilateral league between Portuguese and Gibraltar sides. Instead, teams from both nations compete in the European Cricket League (ECL). Organised by the European Cricket Network (ECN), this tournament is a T10 format competition founded in 2019. Clubs such as Oeiras CC and Lisbon Super Giants from Portugal join forces with Lathbury Lightning and Calpe Giants from Gibraltar. Participation is determined by success in domestic leagues. In Portugal, the Liga Grizzly is the top tier, managed by the Federação Portuguesa de Cricket. The winner of Division 1 typically earns a place in the ECL.

Gibraltar operates its own Premier League, established in 2022. Teams like the Mediterranean Vikings and Harding Hurricanes compete within this structure. The champion or a representative selected by the Gibraltar Cricket Association qualifies for the European Cricket League. The ECL format includes a group stage followed by a Championship Week knockout phase. V.O.C. Rotterdam from the Netherlands claimed the inaugural title. These structures allow clubs from both countries to compete against each other indirectly within a broader European context rather than in a dedicated two-nation series.
