The Hong Kong Women's Premier League (HKWPL), also known as the CHK Women's Premier League, stands as the highest level of domestic women’s cricket in the territory. Organized by Cricket Hong Kong, China (CHK), the competition was established in 2020 to create a high-performance environment for the nation’s best players.

Unlike traditional club structures found elsewhere, this league operates as a closed competition featuring two select, franchise-style sides: the Bauhinia Stars Women and the Jade Jets Women. These squads are composed of the top 30 female cricketers in Hong Kong, selected from various club teams to compete in a high-profile, short-format tournament. The Jade Jets Women have been the dominant force in this specific format, winning the titles in the inaugural 2020/21 season and again in 2021.

The league format has evolved since its inception. The inaugural season featured a mix of limited-overs formats, including 35-over and 40-over matches, played in a head-to-head series between the two teams. Subsequent iterations shifted to a Twenty20 (T20) format. The competition typically consists of a short series of matches, without a multi-team round-robin or play-off system.

There is no formal promotion or relegation system, as the league operates exclusively between these two select sides. The competition sits at the top of the domestic pyramid for women’s cricket in Hong Kong, directly feeding into the national team setup. While the term "Hong Kong Women's Premier League" is sometimes used interchangeably with the club-based T20 Premier League in media reports, the CHK Women's Premier League remains distinct in its structure and team composition. This setup serves as the premier showcase for national talent, highlighting the elite level of the sport in the region.
