HKG PL T20 Tournament (Hong Kong) 2023/24

The HKG PL T20 stands as the leading domestic Twenty20 cricket competition in Hong Kong. Held annually, the tournament typically takes place in the autumn or spring months. It is organized by Cricket Hong Kong, China, the national governing body established in 1968. The event originated in 2019, taking the place of the Hong Kong T20 Blitz, a franchise-based series that operated from 2016 to 2018 until financial difficulties forced its cancellation.

Unlike the previous franchise model, the HKG PL features traditional club teams. The participating side consists of five elite entities: Hong Kong Cricket Club, Kowloon Cricket Club, Pakistan Association of Hong Kong, United Services Recreation Club, and Diasqua Little Sai Wan Cricket Club. Selection for the tournament is invitational, relying on the status of these clubs as top-tier domestic organisations. The structure does not include a promotion or relegation system.

Matches follow a round-robin group stage where every team faces each other, leading to a decisive final. Kowloon Cricket Club holds the record for the most titles, having won the competition in 2019, 2020/21, and 2023/24. Hong Kong Cricket Club secured victories in 2021 and 2024/25, while Pakistan Association of Hong Kong claimed the trophy in 2022/23 and 2025/26. The 2020 edition was cancelled due to the global pandemic.

The competition provides the main platform for national team players and elite domestic talent in the region. It remains the only active major domestic Twenty20 tournament in Hong Kong, continuing the tradition of high-level cricket within the country.
