United Services Recreation Club

USRC line up in the Hong Kong Premier League T20 and One-Day competitions, where the club has spent recent seasons chasing rather than catching Kowloon Cricket Club and Hong Kong Cricket Club.

The three clubs are still spoken of together as the game's old guard in the territory, and matches between them carry that weight even without a fixed name attached to the fixture. USRC's own path there was less direct than the other two: the team played for a period under the Independents banner, and before that as HK Indians, before settling into its present identity in the league.

The club itself dates to 1911, set up at Gascoigne Road in Kowloon for personnel of British officer rank, and its headquarters remain there on Gascoigne Road in King's Park. Space at home was never suited to first-team cricket, so matches are played out at Wong Nai Stadium, the Hong Kong Cricket Club's ground at Wong Nai Chung Gap, which holds 1,500.

Imran Arif took over as head coach after a playing career in English county cricket, and it is his name attached to the side's recent seasons more than any other.
