The Hong Kong Women's Premier League is the top tier of domestic women's cricket in the territory, governed by Cricket Hong Kong. It began in 2021, replacing earlier representative structures with a format designed to elevate the standard of the game locally. The competition operates without promotion or relegation, as it sits above the Women's Development League. Its primary function is to act as a pathway for players aspiring to represent the national team. In its initial phases, the league featured two squads: Bauhinia Stars Women and Jade Jets Women. These sides were drawn together from the best available talent across various clubs rather than representing specific institutions. The early matches were contested in a 35-over format before shifting to the Twenty20 format that defines the modern iteration of the tournament. This change aligned the domestic competition with international standards for shorter-form cricket. Jade Jets Women claimed victory in the inaugural 2021 series and secured the title again in the 2024/25 season. Bauhinia Stars Women responded by winning the subsequent 2025/26 edition. The competition is currently known as the Hong Kong Women's All Stars T20 Series, running a league stage followed by finals. The structure of the sport in Hong Kong has evolved significantly in recent years. From the 2023/24 season onwards, the league moved away from the centralized representative model toward a traditional club-based setup. This shift introduced teams such as Kowloon Cricket Club Women, Hong Kong Cricket Club Women, Craigengower Cricket Club Women, and Diasqua Little Sai Wan CC Women. The transition mirrors broader trends in the sport, aiming to integrate local clubs more directly into the elite domestic landscape. The competition remains the highest level of play for women in the region, providing a consistent platform for high-performance cricket throughout the year.
