The fixture between Guernsey and the Isle of Man does not carry a traditional trophy name. It comprises bilateral Twenty20 International series and occasional multi-team tournaments. The two sides established their official Twenty20 International status in August 2020 when the Isle of Man toured Guernsey.
Guernsey holds a commanding advantage in this specific rivalry. The home side won the men’s series 3-0 in 2020 and followed up with a 2-0 victory in 2026, with one match ending without a result. In the women’s game, Guernsey secured a 2-0 win in 2024. Since their first official encounter in 2020, the head-to-head record shows the Isle of Man trailing by five matches to two.
This contest should not be confused with the historic Inter-Insular Cricket rivalry. That term refers exclusively to the annual competition between Jersey and Guernsey, which began in 1950 with club-level matches dating back to 1949. The Guernsey-Isle of Man fixtures are a distinct entity, representing a newer and less frequent bilateral arrangement primarily in the T20 format.
Both associations have long histories. The Isle of Man Cricket Association was founded in 1930 and joined the International Cricket Council in 2004. The Guernsey Cricket Association was established in 1927 and became an ICC member in 2005. Both teams have participated in regional events such as the Four Islands Tournament, which historically included Jersey and the Isle of Wight.
The primary distinction for the viewer is that this specific rivalry operates independently of the older, annual Inter-Insular Trophy between Jersey and Guernsey. While the island teams share a regional history, the Guernsey-Isle of Man series is defined by its modern bilateral structure and Guernsey’s consistent dominance in recent meetings.
