The encounter was a five-match Twenty20 International series held at the Gahanga International Cricket Stadium in Kigali. The contest ran through October and November of that year. In the final tally, the hosts emerged victorious, winning the series three matches to two. This result followed a reciprocal tour in September 2024, where the Rwandan side had travelled to Kenya for a similar exchange.

The series sits within a broader context of women's cricket development in the region, most notably the Kwibuka T20 Tournament. This annual multi-nation event has been hosted in Rwanda since 2014. Originally established under the name "Kwibuka Cricket for Peace," the competition was founded to promote unity following the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi.
