Men's T20 World Cup East Asia-Pacific Region QLF B 2022/23

The Men's T20 World Cup East Asia-Pacific Region Qualifier B is a cricket tournament that forms part of the qualification pathway for the global ICC Men's T20 World Cup. Organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and administered regionally by Cricket East Asia (CEA), this specific sub-regional format was introduced in the 2022–2026 cycle. It operates alongside Qualifier A to determine which teams advance toward the combined Asia-EAP Regional Final.

In the 2024 edition, held in September and October, South Korea hosted the event. The participating teams included Japan, Indonesia, South Korea, and the Philippines. The structure relied on a round-robin group stage where each side played multiple matches against its opponents. Japan secured victory by winning all six of their matches, finishing ahead of the Philippines, Indonesia, and South Korea. The winner of Qualifier B earned the right to compete in the final qualification stage.

This stage leads to the combined Asia-EAP Regional Final, a process distinct from other ICC regions due to the merger of Asian and East Asia-Pacific teams. In the 2025 final held in Oman, Nepal emerged as the champion, joining Oman and the UAE in securing spots for the 2026 T20 World Cup. Historically, Papua New Guinea and Japan have been dominant forces within the region. Papua New Guinea won the 2023 EAP Qualifier and the 2019 EAP Sub-Regional Qualifier. Japan claimed victories in both the 2022 and 2024 Sub-Regional Qualifiers.

The tournament serves as a critical stepping stone for Associate members seeking international recognition. While the broader EAP qualifier has existed for decades, the current split into separate qualifiers reflects an evolving structure designed to manage the growing number of participating nations. Cricket East Asia continues to oversee these events, ensuring that the region contributes to the global cricket landscape through these competitive pathways.
