Namibia Women in Germany 2022/23

The Namibia Women in Germany fixture represents a specific bilateral cricket series rather than a permanent league structure. Officially titled the Namibia Women tour of Germany, 2022, the event comprised three Women's Twenty20 Internationals played in Krefeld. The matches took place at the Bayer Uerdingen Cricket Ground on July 2 and 3, 2022.

Organised by Cricket Germany and Cricket Namibia under the auspices of the International Cricket Council, the series showcased the growing international standing of both nations. Both teams hold Associate Member status, having gained full T20I status for all bilateral matches on January 1, 2019. Namibia joined as an Associate Member earlier, in 1992, while Germany transitioned from Affiliate to Associate status in 1999. These historical milestones underpin the formal recognition of the teams on the global stage.

During the tour, the Namibian side secured a clean sweep, winning all three encounters. The victories were achieved by margins of 10 wickets, 150 runs, and 82 runs respectively. This series stands as the first and only recorded WT20I series between the two nations to date. Their encounters remain exclusively bilateral, with no history of meeting in a major tournament final.

While the series itself was a singular event, it highlights the broader context of cricket development in both countries. Germany's top women's competition, the Frauen-Bundesliga, transitioned to a T20 format in 2023, following domestic structures that involve regional pools leading to a national final round. Similarly, Namibia operates the Cricket Namibia Club League, featuring clubs such as Wanderers and CCD Tigers. The federation introduced central contracts for its women's national team in March 2024, signalling a commitment to professionalising the sport at home. This series served as a significant milestone in the ongoing relationship between the two cricketing bodies.
