Nigeria Cricket Federation Women's T20I Tournament 2021/22

The tournament operates as an international invitational event rather than a domestic league. It does not form part of a pyramid with promotion and relegation, nor does it follow the structure of the National Sports Festival, which features state-based teams in a multi-sport context. Instead, the competition serves as a developmental platform for the Nigerian national women’s team and regional rivals.

The series began in 2019, with Nigeria claiming the inaugural title. The modern format gained traction in 2022, hosted at the Tafawa Balewa Square Cricket Oval in Lagos. That edition included five teams: Nigeria, Rwanda, Ghana, Gambia, and Sierra Leone, after Cameroon withdrew. Rwanda secured victory in the final against Nigeria. Nigeria returned to winning ways in 2023, defeating Rwanda once more in the championship match.

Tanzania Women made their debut in 2024, finishing top of the round-robin table and beating Nigeria to claim the title. The fifth edition took place in March 2026 and saw a renaming to the Patricia Kambarami Cup. This change honoured the late ICC Africa Regional Development Manager and cricket development pioneer, Patricia Kambarami, who died in May 2024. The 2026 field featured Nigeria, Ghana, Rwanda, South Africa U19, and Zimbabwe U19. Nigeria Women won the final against Rwanda by nine runs.

The structure typically follows a round-robin stage, followed by a third-place play-off and a final. The event provides Tier-2 nations with T20I status matches, fostering cooperation across West and East Africa. It remains distinct from formal domestic structures, focusing instead on skill development and regional engagement through competitive play.
