The fixture between the Pakistan and Zimbabwe national cricket teams is defined by bilateral series rather than a single, permanent, named tournament. There is no exclusive competition, such as a 'Pakistan-Zimbabwe Cup', that runs annually. The teams engage in recurring tours across Test, One Day International (ODI), and Twenty20 International (T20I) formats.
In November–December 2024, Pakistan toured Zimbabwe for a series consisting of three ODIs and three T20Is. Matches were hosted primarily at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo. Pakistan won the ODI series 3–0 and the T20I series 2–1. Kamran Ghulam scored a maiden ODI century in the decisive third ODI.
Historically, Pakistan has dominated the head-to-head record. In Tests, Pakistan has won significantly more matches than Zimbabwe. In ODIs, Pakistan holds a commanding lead. In T20Is, Pakistan has won 20 out of 23 matches. In 2018, Pakistan won a five-match ODI series 5–0.
There is no permanent trophy for the bilateral series. Specific series have had temporary names, such as the 'Independence Cup' in 2017, which featured Pakistan and a World XI in Pakistan, not Zimbabwe. The teams have participated in multi-team tournaments together, such as the 2018 T20 Tri-Series in Zimbabwe with Australia and the 2025 T20I Tri-Series in Pakistan with Sri Lanka, which Pakistan won.
Unlike domestic leagues or continental cups, this rivalry is not a fixed tournament with a set format, promotion, or relegation. It is a series of matches scheduled by the respective cricket boards. The primary distinction is the lack of a permanent named entity; it is simply the Pakistan vs Zimbabwe bilateral series.
