The **Shpageeza Cricket League** operates as Afghanistan’s premier domestic Twenty20 (T20) competition. Organised by the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), it functions as the country’s primary platform for franchise-based T20 cricket. Established in 2013, the tournament replaced the earlier Etisalat Sixes T20 Tournament and has since adopted various sponsorship brands, including Alokozay Cola and X-Bull Energy.
The league occupies the top tier of the national domestic structure. It distinguishes itself by utilising a franchise model rather than the regional representative system found in competitions like the Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-day Tournament. Under this format, teams are marketed to organisations, and players are selected through a draft system that integrates national team players, overseas cricketers, and local talent. The schedule typically spans approximately 12 days. Matches follow a double round-robin group stage, after which the top two teams contest a single final match without an intermediate semi-final stage.
Historical performance highlights the competitive balance within the league. Speen Ghar Tigers and Amo Sharks share the record for the most titles, each securing three championships. Speen Ghar Tigers claimed victories in the inaugural 2013 edition, followed by wins in 2015 and 2022. Amo Sharks achieved their first championship in the 2025 season, adding to subsequent successes. Mis Ainak Knights holds two titles, while Kabul Eagles also secured two championships. Band-e-Amir Dragons won the competition once in 2017. The current squad includes Hindukush Stars, Speen Ghar Tigers, Band-e-Amir Dragons, Pamir Zalmi, Amo Sharks, and Mis Ainak Knights.
