Women's T20I Quadrangular Series (in UAE) (United States) 2022/23

The Women’s T20I Quadrangular Series is a recurring multilateral cricket tournament organized by the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB). It operates as a periodic preparatory event for Associate member nations rather than a permanent league with a traditional founding year. The primary purpose of the competition is to qualify teams for major ICC tournaments, most notably the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier. It sits within the international cricket pyramid as a regional preparatory competition, distinct from the official ICC qualification pathway itself, though it serves as a critical warm-up for that sequence.

The format is a round-robin league where each of the four participating teams plays every other team once. There are no finals or playoffs, and the winner is determined by points and net run rate. Promotion is not applicable in the domestic sense, as teams are national sides, but success here aids in ICC ranking and preparation for global qualifiers. Relegation does not exist. The series differs from other UAE competitions by its specific focus on bringing together a mix of Asian, African, and American associate nations for bilateral-style multilateral play. It often serves as the final preparation block before the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier held later that year.

The 2022 edition, featuring Thailand Women, United States of America Women, Zimbabwe Women, and United Arab Emirates Women, was won by Zimbabwe Women with three wins from zero losses. Thailand Women finished as runners-up. Notable records from that season include Nannapat Koncharoenkai scoring the highest individual score of 88 runs for Thailand, and Vaishnave Mahesh taking the best bowling figures of 6/21 for the United Arab Emirates. A 2024 edition in the UAE featuring the United Arab Emirates, United States of America, Netherlands, and Scotland was entirely abandoned due to weather, with no winner declared.
