India — Pakistan: 211:192, Asian Games Men's Cricket Competition

India beat Pakistan 211:192 in the men's cricket tournament at the Asian Games on October 3rd, 2026. The result settled a fixture that had been building toward this moment, and neither side had much room to breathe by the end.

Both teams had been trading runs in recent matches, and this one followed the pattern. Pakistan's last outing before this was a 112:111 win against Bangladesh, while India had just seen off Sri Lanka 169:45. The difference between them was not dramatic, but it was enough.

And here's the thing — looking at the form sheets, both sides had been involved in some extraordinary games. Pakistan's 582:583 against England in September was the sort of result that makes you wonder about the pitch conditions. India's 406:405 against West Indies was not far off that madness either. This 211:192 felt measured by comparison.

To be fair, the margin tells only part of the story. India's recent results show a team capable of both dominance — 221:94 against Afghanistan — and survival in tight finishes. Pakistan's run included a 502:499 win over Select XI, which suggests they are comfortable when games go down to the wire.

By then, the table position mattered less than the result itself. India took the points, Pakistan had to accept they fell short when it counted. The goal difference shifts slightly, but this tournament is not decided by fractions.
