Parano equalised for the visitors on the stroke of the seventy-eighth. The result leaves both sides level on points in fifth place.
And here's the thing about Akale's goal — it came early enough to settle Louisville's nerves, but not early enough to let the game flow. The striker found space and finished clinically, a moment that felt like it could have won the match for the home side. San Antonio had to work for their response.
Parano's equaliser came in a flurry of activity around the seventy-eighth minute. Pacheco, Morris, and Akale were all substituted in that same window, as if both managers were looking for something different. The visitor's goal came from sustained pressure, which is not surprising considering they held two-thirds of possession.
To be fair, the statistics tell a familiar story. San Antonio dominated the ball with 66 per cent possession and 534 passes to Louisville's 274. They also registered more attacks, 110 to 87, and created similar chances — both sides managed one big chance each. But shots don't always translate to goals.
By then, Louisville had shown they could compete. They won 15 of 31 aerial duels and made 12 successful tackles, offering enough resistance to prevent the visitors from running away with it. The hosts were not staring at the drop, not by a long way.
Both teams remain on five places in the table, though San Antonio sit three points ahead with 36 to Louisville's 33. The hosts have lost eight games already this season, while the visitors have only five defeats. That margin matters more than the draw suggests.
