Rajasthan — Tamil Nadu: 555:347, Ranji Trophy

Rajasthan beat Tamil Nadu 555 to 347 in the first day's play of the Ranji Trophy on October 11th, 2026. The hosts dominated from the opening session, building a commanding lead that left their visitors chasing shadows. By then the gap was already unbridgeable.

Five hundred and fifty-five runs on the board before Tamil Nadu even began their innings. That is the sort of total that puts pressure on the opposition from the word go. To be fair, the visitors had shown they could compete in their recent outings.

The two sides met back in January when Tamil Nadu edged out Rajasthan 225 to 215. This time the result went the other way by a considerable margin. And here's the thing — it was never going to be close once Rajasthan got going.

Both teams sit at the top of the table with zero games, zero points. The standings tell you nothing yet, but this afternoon's display might go some way toward suggesting who has momentum. Rajasthan looked the more settled side.

The 208-run difference between the two totals speaks for itself. Tamil Nadu will need to find something in the second session, or this match could be over before it properly began. The heat took the sting out of it for the hosts.
