Вихрен cruise past Добруджа to extend unbeaten run
Вихрен saw off Добруджа 2:0 in the Second League's Regular Season ninth round on Saturday. The hosts remain top of the table with twenty-one points from nine matches, while the visitors sit seventeenth on six.
The game opened with a measured rhythm until minute twenty, when Вихрен began pressing more deliberately. Bengyuzov broke the deadlock at thirty-five, and things came to a head shortly after half-time when Manolev doubled the lead at forty-eight. By then Dobrudzha had already lost Beshev to a booking just before the interval.
The statistics tell their own story. The hosts registered eighty-eight attacks against fifty from their opponents, with possession split 0.6 to 0.4. Вихрен had four shots on target compared to three for the guests, yet the difference in the scoreline reflected something deeper — Dobrudzha simply had nothing to do all evening.
We had given a prediction of a guest victory with sixty-one per cent confidence, but the match went another way. The high line was picked apart too often, and when the hosts took the lead the visitors seemed to close ranks rather than respond. And here's the thing — you can talk about chances, but Вихрен were second to everything in the final third.
Coaching changes followed the goals. Dobrudzha brought on Ivov and Al Badarin at forty-six in a bid to alter the tempo, while Вихрен introduced Gospodinov, Prindzhev, and Kilov after the hour. Beshev was withdrawn at seventy-two, replaced by Kilov, and later Pimenta came on for the visitors.
The result keeps Вихрен's perfect record intact — six wins and three draws without a defeat. Dobrudzha's recent form offers little comfort: two draws, a loss, and two defeats in their last five outings. The gap between them on the table now reads fifteen points, and it shows.
