CSKA Sofia II

In June 2016, CSKA Sofia's reserve team did not win its way into the Second League.

Records of a CSKA reserve side go back to 1950, when it played under the name ONV. In 1963–1964, during a period of club mergers, a qualifying squad called Armeyets II withdrew rather than compete. Between 1981 and 1982 the team appeared as CSKA Septemvriysko Zname II in the Sofia V Group, playing its home matches at Septemvri's ground in Krasna Polyana. Relegation the following year prompted the Bulgarian Football Union to bar reserve sides of top-flight clubs from the professional pyramid altogether, and the team disappeared from senior football, surviving from 1988 to 1995 only in army and district competitions under the name Armeyets (Sofia).

It came back twice more: as CSKA 2 in 1999, for a reserve-team championship, then in 2007–2008 for the restructured Second League. The 2017 relegation ended that spell too — the club turned down its place in the Third League and dissolved rather than drop down. It was recreated in 2022, entered the Third League's South-West zone, and climbed back to the Second League by finishing second in 2023–2024. It has stayed there since, finishing 13th in 2024–2025 and 5th in 2025–2026, with home matches at Stadion Dragalevtsi.

Whatever it does in the Second League has a ceiling: reserve teams are barred from the Bulgarian Cup and cannot rise into the First League, however well they finish.
