About the player

Caleb Swann broke into professional football without a straightforward path through the youth ranks — instead of chasing international caps, he built his case through appearances. Before turning professional, he had already agreed to play college soccer at the University of Maryland, a route that would have taken him away from the club system entirely. He chose the opposite direction, staying inside the FC Dallas pathway that had shaped him since 2022, when he joined the academy after winning the Dallas Cup with Solar Soccer Club.

The move to North Texas SC in December 2024 gave him a full season to make his mark, and he made the most of it: 28 appearances in the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro campaign, missing not a single one, with two goals to his name as the team pushed into the playoffs. That level of reliability is what persuaded FC Dallas to bring him up and leave him developing further at affiliate level.

The homegrown contract signed on Homegrown Day in January 2026 runs through 2027, with club options that could keep him in Dallas until 2029. As a homegrown signing, the move up from North Texas SC involved no transfer fee — a reflection of a pathway working exactly as designed. Swann also holds Colombian nationality alongside his American passport, though he has not yet featured for any United States youth national team. For now, his career is defined less by representative football than by a steady, uninterrupted run of first-team-adjacent minutes that carried him from the academy to a first-team deal.
