About the player
Born in Sudbury, Ontario, she started out with Sudbury Canadians and Brampton Brams United before four years of college soccer at the University of Iowa. Her senior career opened with Toronto Lady Lynx in 2012, when she joined Icelandic club ÍBV. There she won the Icelandic Cup and League Cup and was named the club's Player of the Year in 2018.
The move to SL Benfica in 2019. Over four seasons she won three Campeonato Nacional Feminino titles, three Taça da Liga Feminina titles and three Supertaça de Portugal Feminina titles, and in 2022–23 she was named the league's Player of the Year and won the Golden Boot. where she lifted the FA Women's League Cup and was named the club's Player of the Month in February 2024 after picking up the WSL Goal of the Month award the previous October. She left Arsenal for Utah Royals in August 2024.
For Canada, Lacasse made her debut against Mexico in November 2021 and has gone on to earn 46 caps and six goals. She played at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup and the 2024 Summer Olympics, and was runner-up with the national side at the 2022 CONCACAF W Championship and the SheBelieves Cup in both 2024 and 2026. She was named Canada Soccer Player of the Month in April 2023.
