Cristian Martín Palacios Ferreira

Born in Salto, he came through Atlético Chaná before Peñarol signed him in 2009, though the club spent years loaning him out — to Central Español, Atlético Tucumán, El Tanque Sisley, Olmedo, Juventud de Las Piedras, Temperley and Montevideo Wanderers. Once he did, he became one of the most productive strikers in Uruguayan football, topping the scoring charts in the Torneo Clausura in 2011 and 2015, then again in the Torneo Apertura in 2017, when his 30 goals made him the league's top scorer and earned him the Best Forward award. He won three league titles with Peñarol and the Supercopa Uruguaya in 2018.

A free transfer took him to Puebla in Mexico later that year, but it was two loan spells that defined the following seasons: one at Sporting Cristal in Peru, and a more eye-catching one at Unión Española in Chile, where in 2020 he finished as the Chilean Primera División's top scorer with 15 goals, including a hat-trick against Colo-Colo. After his Puebla contract was terminated, he joined Unión Española permanently and added 16 more goals, despite a contract dispute with the club around that period.

In 2022 he moved to Universidad de Chile on a free transfer and marked his debut with a hat-trick against Unión La Calera. He was the club's top scorer in 2024 with 13 goals as they won the Copa Chile, a campaign interrupted by a significant muscle injury that April. He naturalised as a Chilean citizen in 2024. In January 2025 he signed for Everton de Viña del Mar on a free transfer, agreeing a contract that runs to the end of 2026.
