About the player
Erica Meg Parkinson was born in Singapore and started out at JSSL Singapore before her family's move to Portugal took her into the Foz do Douro academy system, then on to Leixões. She made her senior debut for Valadares Gaia in August 2023 and, in the 2024–25 season, was named Best Young Player in the Liga BPI.
Her breakthrough came through the England youth set-up. She reached the final of the 2024 UEFA Women's Under-17 Championship, finishing runners-up, and helped England to the semi-finals of the FIFA Under-17 Women's World Cup the same year, scoring crucial goals along the way. That form carried her rapidly up the pathway: in March 2026, at seventeen, Sarina Wiegman called her into the senior England squad.
Parkinson joined North Carolina Courage as a free agent in July 2026, signing through 2029 with a club option for a further year, and made her NWSL debut against Portland Thorns on 1 October 2026. She plays as a midfielder, wears the number 19 shirt and is right-footed.
