About the player
Fernando Kloster came up through Independiente's academy, joining the club's youth ranks in 2022 after his early football in Chaco. In November 2024 he signed his first professional contract with the club, tying him down into 2027. He has not yet made his debut in the Primera División, having so far watched several first-team matchdays from the bench as an unused substitute.
Called up for the Argentina under-17 side, Kloster was selected for the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar. He played the full 90 minutes against Belgium in the group stage, and then produced the standout contribution of his tournament in the round of 16 against Mexico: with Argentina needing a response, he scored the equaliser to make it 2-2 in the 42nd minute.
