About the player
Gabriel Ernesto Alfaro Martinez spent nine years working his way through Sporting Cristal's academy before making his first-team debut, having joined the club's youth ranks at the age of 11 in 2014. The debut arrived in the 2022–2023 season, and followed a spell with Sporting Cristal's under-20 side in the Copa Libertadores Sub-20 in 2022.
His path since has run through loan spells rather than permanent moves. In June 2024 he went out to Comerciantes Unidos for the remainder of that season before returning to Sporting Cristal at the end of 2025. In January 2026 he joined Atlético Grau on a free transfer, and has since established himself as a regular starter for the club in Liga 1.
A left-back who plays on his stronger left foot, Alfaro has not featured for Peru at senior level, nor has he been capped by any of the youth national sides.
