About the player
Exon Gustavo Vallecilla Godoy came through the youth ranks at Deportivo Cuenca, making his professional debut there in 2016.
A loan at FC Cincinnati triggered a buy option, and in March 2022 Cincinnati sold him on to the Colorado Rapids for $400,000 in General Allocation Money for 2022, another $400,000 for 2023, and up to $50,000 more depending on performance, while keeping a 10% cut of any future sale. A loan at Columbus Crew followed for the 2023 season, where he made 16 appearances, but injury kept him out of the playoff squad; he was still recognised as an MLS Cup champion with the club. A further loan took him to Universidad Católica before, in December 2024, he returned to Barcelona SC as a free agent on a one-year deal with an option to extend. Barcelona SC took up that option in August 2025, tying him to the club until December 2028.
He made his senior debut for Ecuador on 4 December 2021, in a friendly against El Salvador.
