About the player
Twenty-one goals in a single season on loan at Sport Recife made Guilherme's name in Brazil. He arrived there in 2019 for what was supposed to be a spell in the second tier and left as Série B's top scorer, having found the net 17 times that campaign alone.
His clearest impact abroad came at Al-Faisaly, where he scored 15 goals in 59 league appearances and helped the club to the King's Cup in 2020–21.
It was at Santos, though, that Guilherme became a fixture. Twenty-seven goals across 92 league appearances between 2024 and 2025 included a moment of genuine significance for the club: on 1 February 2025, his goal against São Paulo was the 13,000th in Santos's history. He was Série B champion with Santos in 2024 and top scorer of the Campeonato Paulista in 2025, earning a place in that competition's Team of the Year in both years.
He moved to Houston Dynamo in January 2026 as a Designated Player, and the early return has matched his reputation as a scorer: 12 goals in 20 league appearances by August 2026 earned him a first MLS All-Star selection. He has yet to be capped by Brazil.
