Ianis Ilie Stoica

At fourteen, Ianis Stoica made his senior debut for FCSB on 25 October 2017, becoming the club's youngest-ever player and, in the same match, its youngest scorer — a record set against a career backdrop few of his generation share: his father, Pompiliu Stoica, had scored for the same club, and Ianis eventually passed his tally. That early breakthrough did not translate into an immediate first-team career. Between 2019 and 2021 he was loaned out repeatedly — to Dunărea Călărași, back to his boyhood club Petrolul Ploiești, then to Metaloglobus București and CSM Slatina, where he scored seven goals in 24 appearances. He returned to FCSB for the 2021–22 season and put together his most productive senior campaign there, with seven goals in 32 matches, though interest from Arsenal in 2021 never turned into a transfer. His FCSB career wound down over the following two seasons, including a loan to Universitatea Cluj, before he terminated his contract in January 2024 and joined FC Hermannstadt. It proved a turning point: he scored a hat-trick in February 2025 and helped Hermannstadt reach the final of the Cupa României that season. The form earned him a move to Estrela da Amadora in July 2025, a transfer worth €1.3 million, with Hermannstadt keeping a 20% sell-on clause — a clause that later fed into a dispute the Romanian club took to FIFA over unpaid instalments, which FIFA resolved in Hermannstadt's favour. Stoica has represented Romania from under-16 to under-21 level, including at the 2025 UEFA European Under-21 Championship, without yet earning a senior cap. Ahead of that tournament, U21 coach Daniel Pancu questioned his maturity.
