Iker Fimbres

Iker Fimbres is a product of Monterrey's academy through and through, having joined the club's ranks at under-13 level in 2018 and worked his way up every age category before making his Liga MX debut on 14 July 2024. Rather than being sent out on loan to gain experience elsewhere, he went straight from the club's under-23 side into the first team, and the move paid off: Monterrey handed him a permanent senior contract from 1 January 2025.

His breakthrough season brought individual recognition beyond the pitch. In October 2024 he was awarded Liga MX's Goal of the Month, and the following year he was named to the IFFHS Men's Youth CONCACAF Best XI for the under-20 category. He backed that up with a place in the Liga MX All-Star selection in 2026.

Team honours have so far stayed just out of reach. Monterrey reached the Apertura 2025 final, only to lose out to Club América, leaving Fimbres still searching for his first senior title with the club that raised him. Hermosillo, his birthplace in Sonora, is a long way from the Liga MX big stage he now plays on, but the path there ran through a single academy, without a transfer fee or a spell away from home.
