About the player
Italo Gabriel Charbaje de Souza made his way to América Mineiro's youth ranks after coming through Associação Atlética Francana's under-20 side, where he took part in the 2024 Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior. The forward, known simply as Italo Gabriel or Italo Charbaje, still features for América Mineiro's under-20 group, but he has also been given minutes with the first team in Série B across the 2025 and 2026 seasons.
Those senior appearances have come almost entirely from the bench. He has been used ten times in the 2026 Série B campaign, most as a substitute, and has totalled around 100 minutes on the pitch without yet registering a goal or an assist.
