Leonardo Adelino da Silva Lopes

Leonardo Lopes joined Peterborough United's academy in 2013, having started out at Santa Iria and Povoense in his native Portugal, and signed his first professional contract with the English club in March 2015. He made his senior debut a month later and went on to make 87 league appearances for Peterborough, a run that earned him a move to Wigan Athletic in June 2018 for a fee widely reported at £1.5 million.

Lopes made just one league appearance for Wigan before being sent out on loan to Gillingham, where he scored once in 14 games. A permanent move followed in August 2019, when Hull City signed him on a three-year deal; he made 40 league appearances for the Tigers, scoring twice.

It was at Cercle Brugge, after a €2.0 million transfer in September 2020, that Lopes made 113 league appearances and scored five goals over four seasons in Bruges. His performances there included a nomination for the club's Goal of the Month in February 2021. Lopes joined Gent on a free transfer in December 2024, signing a three-and-a-half-year contract.

At international level, Lopes has represented Portugal at Under-20 level, earning a single cap as a substitute in a UEFA U20 Elite League match against Germany in March 2018.
