Madison Haugen

Madison Haugen turned professional straight out of college, signing for Sporting CP in Portugal in February 2025 as a free transfer. She made her debut the following month and went on to make 21 appearances, scoring five goals, before leaving the club in January 2026.

Her route to Portugal ran through two American college programmes. Haugen played for Georgia from 2020 to 2023 before transferring to Texas for the 2024 season, and won the SEC Women's Soccer Tournament with both clubs — in 2023 with Georgia and again in 2024 with Texas. She also built a strong academic record alongside her football, picking up Academic All-American honours and the Ramsey Scholarship for Academic and Athletic Excellence in 2023.

Haugen joined Washington Spirit in January 2026 on a short-term injury replacement contract, before re-signing with the club through the end of 2026 that June. She plays as a left back or centre back and is left-footed.

Haugen was named Forsyth County Player of the Year in 2019, won a state championship with Lambert High School in 2017, and was picked for the United Soccer Coaches All-American team in both 2019 and 2020. She was also called into a training camp with the United States' under-17 side in 2018, though she has yet to add a senior cap to her name.
