Svend Brodersen

Svend Brodersen came through the youth ranks at Eimsbütteler TV before moving to FC St. Pauli's academy in 2010. He made six appearances for the St. Pauli first team while playing 80 matches for the reserve side, but a broken collarbone in September 2019, which needed surgery, ruled him out for the rest of that season. He left St. Pauli as a free agent in 2021 and joined Yokohama FC, where he became a key player and helped the club win promotion to the J1 League in 2022.

The clearest mark of his career came at Fagiano Okayama, where he signed in January 2024 and took the starting goalkeeper's jersey for a J2 League campaign that ended in the club's historic promotion to the J1 League. His performances that season earned him a place in the J2 League Best XI, and readers of J. League Regista voted him Best Goalkeeper. He remained Okayama's goalkeeper through their 2025 season in the J1 League before his move to Kawasaki Frontale.

Internationally, Brodersen represented Germany at youth level, with four caps for the U20 side, including appearances at the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup, and one cap for the U21 team. He was also named in Germany's squad for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. He has not been capped by the senior national team.
