Víctor Alfonso Guzmán Guzmán

Víctor Guzmán came through Chivas's academy, spending six years with the reserve team, Tapatío, before Pachuca took him on loan in July 2015 and later made the move permanent. The switch, part of a broader deal that also involved Rodolfo Pizarro, turned out to be the making of his career.

At Pachuca he became a regular in an attacking midfield role: the Clausura 2016 league title, the CONCACAF Champions Cup in 2017, and a run to the quarter-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup that same year. He added the Apertura 2022 title before his time at the club ended, and picked up individual recognition along the way, making the Liga MX Best XI for the Apertura 2017, Apertura 2018 and Clausura 2022 campaigns, as well as the league's All-Star team in 2022.

In January 2023 he returned to Chivas as a free agent. The second spell in Guadalajara did not bring him any major titles. He later joined Toluca in July 2026 on what was reported as a low-cost move, and won the Leagues Cup with the club that year.

Guzmán also represented Mexico at under-23 level, where he was named to the Best XI of the 2015 CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Championship.
