«Aggies»
Logan is a university town in northern Utah, built up around Utah State, whose athletic teams have carried the name Aggies since the school's earliest years. The university opened in 1888 as the State Agricultural College of Utah, and its football side followed four years later, in 1892.
The Aggies now play in the Mountain West Conference, in the top tier of NCAA Division I football, and two rivalries carry more weight in Logan than any league table. The meeting with the BYU Cougars has its own name, the BYU–Utah State rivalry, and the shorter trip to face the Utah Utes is known as the Battle of the Brothers. Conference honours have been rare enough that 2021 stands apart on its own: that season the Aggies won the Mountain Division of the Mountain West Conference. Further back, the 1993 Las Vegas Bowl remains the bowl win the programme is still asked about.
Aggie Blue, silver, black and white are the colours Logan turns out in on game day, at Maverik Stadium, known for years as Romney Stadium, where 25,513 seats fill for the Aggies' home games.
