The 12 Haziran Stadium holds 7,810. The current side traces back to 1997, when it started life as Amasya Üniversitesi GSK, and only became Yeni Amasyaspor in 2011. In 2022 the name changed again, back to the simpler Amasyaspor FK.
The nickname Şehzadeler, meaning the Princes, has nothing to do with results.
What the club did earn came in the 2021–22 season, when it won its regional group in the Bölgesel Amatör Lig and went on to take the play-offs, reaching the TFF 3. Lig for the first time in its history. Emin Akyıldız scored 15 goals that season and was the division's top scorer.
Fixtures against Merzifonspor carry weight beyond three points. The two towns have traded insults since 1413, Amasya's people mocked as cabbage eaters and Merzifon's as okra eaters, and the derby still runs on that old joke.
The club has no official website of its own.
