The team, nicknamed Akademiczki, has spent its recent seasons in the Liga Centralna Kobiet, the second tier of Polish women's handball below the Superliga. In 2022/2023 it finished second in I Liga Group A and then placed fourth in the promotion tournament, missing the step up; the following season it settled for fifth in the Liga Centralna.
