Baden-Endingen

HSG Baden-Endingen was formed in 2023 by merging the men's sides of STV Baden and TV Endingen.

The colours were not chosen at random: red comes from both towns' coats of arms, while blue nods to the water running through the area. Matches are played at the GoEasy Arena in Siggenthal Station, in front of up to 2,000 people.

The new club arrived without silverware of its own, but it inherited a history worth telling. TV Endingen reached the Swiss Cup final in 2016/17, losing 26–35 to Wacker Thun, and had already gone up to the Nationalliga A three times before that, in 1995/96, 2007/08 and 2017/18. STV Baden's own high point came more recently, in 2020/21, when it reached the promotion play-offs without getting over the line. In its first season under the new name, 2023/24, HSG Baden-Endingen finished sixth in the Nationalliga B.

The derby now belongs to TV Möhlin, the other Aargau side that gives the fixture its bite. Of the players who came through the merger, Stefan Schärer is the name locals still bring up first: a product of TV Endingen who went on to play for the Swiss national team and carried the flag at the 1996 Olympics.
