Birmingham City Women

Birmingham City Women trace back to 1968, when a group of female supporters started arranging friendlies and, two years later, entered the Heart of England League. The rebranding to Birmingham City Women only came in July 2018, but the closer tie to the men's club dates to November 2016, when the side became fully integrated into Birmingham City F.C.

The club won the FA Women's Cup in 2011–12, beating Chelsea on penalties, 3–2. A European run in 2013–14 took them as far as the Champions League semi-finals, a level the club has not reached since.

Karen Carney, born just down the road in Solihull, became the most capped English player to wear the shirt, with 144 appearances, while the academy's own product, Laura Bassett, was the first player it produced to earn a full England cap. Ellen White passed through between 2017 and 2019 on her way to becoming England's all-time leading scorer.

Promotion back from WSL 2 followed for 2025–26, though a return to the top flight, and any deeper European run, is still to be earned.
