Breogan

Río Breogán go into the season back in the top flight. Lugo has grown used to that yo-yo pattern: promotion in 2018, relegation in 2019, promotion again two years later, with earlier spells in the top division dating back to 1971. Staying there this time, rather than adding to the list, is what the club is measured against now.

The Pazo dos Deportes holds 5,310 but has been pushed past 7,000 for the matches that mattered, a reminder of what the ground looked like before 1992, when Breogán played home games wherever Lugo could offer space, including a season forced out to A Coruña after their own arena closed.

Manel Sánchez remains the name attached to the club's best individual season, top scorer in the ACB in 1986–87. More recently, Džanan Musa took the Liga ACB MVP award in 2021–22 while wearing the shirt, a mark of how far the roster had come.

The Galician Derby against Obradoiro carries an edge sharpened by Raúl López, who chaired Breogán before moving across to the rival club in the early 2010s. Two LEB Oro championships and three Copa Príncipe de Asturias wins sit in the cabinet.
