For one season, the roster in East Hartford included quarterback Josh McCown, running back Lorenzo Booker, and UConn favourite Andre Dixon, all of whom turned out for the Colonials, whose 2010 campaign was the only one they ever played under that name. They had arrived in Connecticut as a relocation, not a fresh start — the franchise had begun life a year earlier as the New York Sentinels, one of the charter clubs of the United Football League, before the move to Rentschler Field.
Chris Palmer took charge for that single season and finished it 3–5, fourth in the UFL table, with no playoff football to follow.
