HK Olimpija

Tivoli Hall has stood in Ljubljana since 1963, the ice surface following two years later, and it took a full renovation in 2004 and another in 2020 to turn it into the ground HK Olimpija now calls home. The club that skates there now is not quite the one that first used that ice: HK Olimpija began in 2004 as a junior and farm side feeding HDD Olimpija Ljubljana, whose own roots ran back to SK Ilirija in 1928. When the senior club collapsed under financial strain in 2017, HK Olimpija was rebuilt into the professional team and stepped into the Alps Hockey League that same season.

The Dragons, as they're known in green and white, found their footing quickly in the new league, winning it in 2018–19 and again in 2020–21 before moving up to the ICE Hockey League in 2021–22. In 2022–23 they represented Slovenia in the Champions Hockey League for the first time.

None of that has softened the Eternal Derby. HDD Jesenice remain the rival that matters, and games between the two carry a weight the league table alone does not explain.
