Ivancna Gorica

Matches at Ivančna Gorica are played in the school sports hall attached to OŠ Stična, a 500-seat venue.

The club itself grew out of three separate outfits: handball had already been played locally since 1960 through TVD Partizan Stična, RK Polž Višnja Gora, and TVD Partizan Šentvid pri Stična. On 14 April 1990, the three merged into a single club, and its name, SVIŠ, is simply built from the first letters of the four towns involved — Stična, Višnja Gora, Ivančna Gorica, Šentvid pri Stična.

The best domestic run came in the 2018/19 season, when SVIŠ finished second in the 1. NLB Liga, a result that opened the door to European competition, and followed it with third place in the Slovenian Cup after losing the bronze-medal match to RK Celje Pivovarna Laško. Relegation arrived at the end of that same season regardless; the club returned in 2020/21, reaching a Cup semi-final in 2024. A Slovenian championship or a Cup title has not followed.

What has held up better is the pipeline through the junior sides, which has sent players such as goalkeeper Mai Miklavčič into the national U20 setup and produced a national title at older-boys level in 2015.

None of that carries the weight of the fixture against RK Trimo Trebnje.
