Jutrzenka Plock Women

Promotion earned Jutrzenka a place in the Liga Centralna Kobiet for the 2026/2027 season, after the club topped the Turniej Mistrzyń in the I Liga, beating KS Zgoda Ruda Śląska 25:24 before putting away ROKiS Radzymin Marcovia Marki 34:22 in the final. It follows an earlier step up to the I Liga in 2024.

The path there was not straight. What began in 1956 as MKS Jutrzenka Płock, a multi-sport club covering football, volleyball, basketball and kayaking alongside handball, saw its women's section founded separately in 1964, only for it to be shut down in 1972. It took until 1980 for handball to return under the name MKS MDK Płock, and the club waited until 1985 to reclaim the Jutrzenka name it still carries.

Home matches are played in blue and black at the Sports Hall of Primary School No. 16 on Piasta Kołodzieja street, though the side has also used the hall on Kilińskiego street when needed. Games against SMS ZPRP Płock, the other handball club in the city, are known locally as the Derby Płocka, and Jutrzenka also measures itself against AZS Poznań and I Liga sides such as Sośnica Gliwice and MTS Kwidzyn.

Płock handball history runs through Anna Garwacka, a five-time Polish champion and a fixture of the national team during her playing days, and through Karolina Mokrzka, who wore the national shirt as a centre back. Neither played for a Jutrzenka side chasing the top flight the way this one is.
