Olimpia Cluj

Founded on 7 July 2010 by Mirel Albon after a split from Clujana, the club took the nickname "Studentele" from its long partnership with the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca and, later, FC Universitatea Cluj — a link close enough that Olimpia even carries Universitatea's crest as its own.

From that first season through 2022–23, the Liga I Feminin title went to Cluj every single year, twelve in a row, before a second-place finish in 2023–24 broke the run. The Cupa României has followed a similar pattern, nine wins including a 3–1 defeat of FK Csíkszereda in the 2024 final. Cosmina Dușa's 103 goals in that debut 2010–11 campaign set the tone early for how one-sided the domestic game would become.

Home games split between two grounds of very different character: the modest Stadionul Clujana, which seats around 500, and the 30,335-capacity Cluj Arena shared with the men's team. Călin Sălăgean took over as head coach from Liviu Ivasuc for the 2024–25 season.

That 2024–25 slide coincided with a break from Universitatea Cluj, which ended its arrangement with Olimpia in 2025 to build its own women's side from scratch.
