Paladins

Daniel Rennich took his MVP season with Solingen in 2017 and turned it into a career that ran through Berlin Adler and Rhein Fire, but before any of that he was part of a squad chasing the Regionalliga West title that same year — the one that finally pushed the Paladins up into the GFL2. Patrick Poetsch went the same route out of Solingen, a long snapper who moved on to Cologne Centurions and Rhein Fire and earned an ELF All-Star nod in 2021 and 2022.

The club carries a nickname, Klingenstädter, borrowed from Solingen's own reputation as a city of blade-makers, and it plays under silver, red and black. Three players, Dominic Hardt, Sven Theophil and Arne Plümacher, put the team together on 31 March 2006.

Promotion in 2017 lasted a single season on top: the men's side finished runners-up in the GFL2 North the following year, then slid back down to the Regionalliga West after 2023. The women's team, once known as the Paladins Ladies and now fielded jointly with Wuppertal Greyhounds under the name Assassins, won the NRW Aufbauliga in both 2015 and 2016 and reached the DBL2 West final as runners-up in 2023.

Locally the fixture that matters is against Remscheid Amboss, played out as the Bergisches Derby, with Langenfeld Longhorns as the other old rival. Home games sit at the Jahnkampfbahn, a ground built to hold 4,957.
