Plzeň U20

The senior club at Plzeň traces back to 1929, when it operated as the hockey department of SK Viktoria Plzeň, and the junior side carries that lineage forward. Its continuous run in the Czech Junior Extraliga dates from the 2007–2008 season, and the age group has since produced two title wins, in 2016–2017 and 2021–2022, along with a semi-final finish in 2017–2018 and a third-place result at the DHL Cup in 2019–2020.

What the team is chiefly known for, though, is who has come through it. Martin Straka's name is the one most associated with the academy, and the production line has kept running since.

Home games are played in front of 7,356 seats at the LOGSPEED CZ Aréna, under the blue-and-white colours that give the club its nickname, Modrobílí, alongside the older Indiáni tag.

The fixture that matters most on the junior calendar is the same one that matters to the senior side: Plzeň against HC Energie Karlovy Vary, played out as the Západočeské derby, the West Bohemian derby.
