Zamet Women

Since that second title, the closest Zamet has come back to the top has been silver: runner-up in the 2014/15 season, and beaten finalists in the Croatian Women's Handball Cup in 2014 and again in 2016.

The handball section grew out of Partizan Zamet, the sports society founded in Rijeka in September 1957 by Stanko Jerger, Josip Šarić and Vittorio Drog, with the women's team set up under that same roof.

Ćamila Mičijević and Dejana Milosavljević carried the side through that 2015 campaign, and Milosavljević went on to take bronze with Croatia at the 2020 European Championship. Rada Ciganović, who played for the club, later returned to coach it.

Rijeka has no other top-flight women's club, so Zamet's sharpest rivalry sits in the past rather than the present: against RK Kvarner, the men's side with which it shared the city's handball scene through the 1960s and 1970s. In the league table now, the clubs to watch are Podravka Vegeta and Lokomotiva.
