Burgher Recreation Club Ground
Colombo, Sierra Leone
Formerly: Bambalapitiya Recreation Club Ground (before 1915, by club name)
The Burgher Recreation Club Ground sits within the Havelock Park sporting complex at 149, Havelock Road. The land was set aside in 1901 and named for Sir Arthur Elibank Havelock, the British Governor of Ceylon from 1890 to 1895. The club that plays on it was founded as the Bambalapitiya Recreation Club on December 26, 1896, and moved to Havelock Park in 1902, the year the ground was established; some records place the move in 1901, but the 1902 date is the one that appears in the archive.
The venue has hosted first-class matches, including a game between Chilaw Marians Cricket Club and Burgher Recreation Club that ended in a tie from December 15–17, 2017. It has also staged limited-overs matches in the Major League Tournament and the Major Clubs Limited Over Tournament, and at least one Day/Twenty20 fixture. The club maintains its own website, and there are no published attendance figures for this particular pitch.
